Fashion
The people of the 1960s dressed in a now infamous style. The 1960s served as a bridge between formal and casual clothing. Women commonly wore dresses, but in the later half of the decade many button shirts and jackets were worn. Men wore sweaters or collared shirts most of the time. However, occasional dress suits or sports jackets were worn by the upper to middle class. Lower classes of both men and women wore rugged work shirts or utilitarian affordable clothing.

Hairstyles were concise for the time. Women’s hair tended to be curled and full of volume. Men were seen to have very simple short flat hair with occasional product or part to it. Accessories were prevalent in this time period. Simple hats or handbags once ruled as necessary parts of going out. As time went on, accessories of that nature were phased out.
